The Auto Log in Sequoia National Park is a giant sequoia tree which fell in 1917 near Crescent Meadow Road. It became a visitor attraction when officials facilitated the ability to drive a car onto it and created a parking space.
The auto log was captured in an iconic photo as part of the 1920 National Park to Park Highway Tour. It was used as a way to convey the size of the trees.
Cars are now prohibited from driving onto the auto log because of rot but visitors can still walk on it.
